Divisions

The regional competition is held annually and is in recital format. The 2010 competition is scheduled for May 22-23. The application period will be from January 4 through March 5. The competition is open to residents and college students of the five Rocky Mountain states, including Colorado, Utah, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming, who are in the age group of 16 to 19, as defined in the eligibility page.

The UW division is held in alternate years, with the next competition scheduled for November 15, 2009. Students enrolled full time at the University of Wyoming and in the age group of 17 to 26 are eligible.

Descriptions of the divisions are given below.

Regional Division

The preliminary round will be judged by the DVD performances submitted with the applications.
Applicants will be notified by mid-April of the preliminary round results.
Information packages will be sent to semi-finalists shortly after notification.
The semi-final round will be held at the Linford Pfeifer Foundation House.
The final round will be held at the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Concert Hall.

University of Wyoming Division

The preliminary round competition will be judged by live performance and is scheduled to be held during the morning of November 15, 2009 at the Linford Pfeifer Foundation House.
Three finalists will be selected.
The final round is scheduled to be held at the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Concert Hall on the afternoon of November 15, 2009.
